DOWNTOWN ADRIAN STRONGBACK PROPERTIES
Adrian Design Group is very helpful with the coordination of all of the various agencies and grant organizations involved. They demonstrated a high design creativity with a strong consideration for controlling cost. We are renovating three different downtown buildings and are not dealing with common floor heights from a structural point of view. This required highly creative solutions. Our work with Adrian Design Group has already become a catalyst for others to take action to improve our downtown. They have been easy to work with and supportive of other members of the project team.
Adrian Design Group has staff that understands renovation of historic buildings. They also understand the grant process, which is very important. We looked at a number of firms and we elected to use them. It was the right decision.
Adrian Design Group expertly handles a wide range of complex work. In city planning and code work, there are always new challenges. They know how to be flexible and are adept at making the changes that need to be addressed. With older buildings, you need to be creative in thinking outside the box to solve unique challenges; they excel in this area.
The Strongback Project involves work on three historic buildings in Downtown Adrian. These series of buildings are connected through interior corridors to provide flexible leasing of the renovated first floor commercial spaces and access for residents of the new apartments on the second through fourth floors.
- The non-load bearing partition walls will all be removed in order to reconfigure the spaces for the new uses.
- Restoration of the historic facades and reconstruction of new storefronts comply the time period of the buildings.
- New stairs and elevator will provide access to the upper floor apartments.
- The north side of the building will feature a landscaped courtyard, and there will be a rooftop patio for use by the residents.
